September

Tanzania

September is an excellent time to explore Tanzania’s lesser-known national parks, offering superb game viewing, chimp trekking and birding opportunities. While they may not boast the fame of the Serengeti or the spectacle of millions of wildebeest on the move, Katavi and Ruaha are filled with rustic charm and captivating wildlife. Both parks are home to all the big cats, wild dogs, and massive herds of buffalo and elephants, along with at least 500 bird species. This is also a great time to combine your safari experience with a beach holiday, as nearby coastal destinations offer beautiful relaxation after your wildlife adventures.

Mozambique

September is a great month in Mozambique, and combines very well with a safari in the Kruger at this time of year! It’s an ideal time for diving and snorkeling. Humpback whales, whale sharks, manta rays, and dolphins can all be spotted, sometimes in a single boat trip! The evenings are warmer than visiting in July or August too.

Namibia

September is a great month for Namibia, its warming up in the evenings but still not too hot, and Etosha National Park is a prime destination for exceptional big game viewing in September. Picture an abundance of big cats, alongside rhinos, buffalos, elephants, and countless plains game gathered around the same waterhole.
